Board Member Spotlight - Jerome Glickman

Jerome L. Glickman joined the Federation Housing (FH) board of directors in September 1991. Jerry was encouraged to do so by his friends and colleagues at Golden Slipper where he held numerous leadership positions including; Vice President of the Uptown Home, Summer Camp President, Passover League Vice President and the list goes on. Jerry proudly accepted the Gold Medallion Award for his many years of dedicated service to Golden Slipper and its constituents.

Jerry’s board involvement with FH over the years has been largely focused in two keys areas – Insurance and Social Services. In fact, Jerry was instrumental in the board’s creation of a Social Service committee that focuses on resident quality of life programs/supports and not only the “bricks and mortar” that make up our affordable housing portfolio. Jerry chaired the Social Services Committee for well over a decade and continues to share his passionate ideas today.

FH has long reaped the benefits of Jerry’s insurance knowledge and expertise which has deemed him the title as our “Insurance Guru”. Jerry’s network of contacts and professionals has helped guide the way through some of the industries toughest insurance requirements in protection of our agencies real estate assets and governing boards. From his early days with his own firm “Glickman Associates, Inc.” he willingly shared the responsibility with FH staff to be sure FH had appropriate coverage at the right price.

Anybody who knows Jerry recognizes his highest priority and passion is his family. No conversation with Jerry is complete without him mentioning (with a twinkle in his eye) the love of his life, Simone (aka Simmie) and the many successes of his 3 adult children, Aaron, Ronnee and Sallie.

Jerry graduated the University of Pennsylvania in 1961 with a degree in Engineering and proudly served his country as a Lieutenant in the United States Army.

Jerry “semi-retired” several years ago, relocating his primary residence from Marlton NJ, chasing the sunshine between summers in Atlantic City and fall/winter/spring in Del Ray Beach Florida. Jerry keeps himself quite busy with a robust social circle, morning walks along the ocean, golfing with friends and an occasional sip of only the finest Scotch.

Please join me in acknowledging Jerry’s contribution, dedication and passionate support of Federation Housing.
